What is included in a standard removals service?

A standard removals service includes the vehicle, fuel, a suitable number of movers, protective blankets and equipment, loading at your current address, safe transport and unloading at your new property. We place items in the rooms you specify and can position furniture to your preference within reasonable time. Optional extras include packing services, supply of packing materials, furniture dismantling and reassembly, and additional stops such as collecting or delivering items to storage. All inclusions and options are clearly listed in your written quotation before you book.

How is a professional removals service different from a basic man-and-van?

While some man-and-van operators provide a good service, a structured removals company offers a more comprehensive and accountable approach. You benefit from trained staff, proper insurance, suitable vehicles, professional equipment and a clear process for surveys, planning and communication. We assess access, volume and risks in advance, rather than simply turning up with a van on the day. This reduces the chance of delays, damage or unexpected extra costs, and generally makes the whole experience far less stressful, especially for larger or more complex moves.

How far in advance should I book my removals?

For most moves we recommend booking at least two to three weeks in advance, especially if you are tied to a specific completion or handover date. This gives us time to carry out any surveys, plan access and allocate the right team and vehicle. However, we understand that dates sometimes change at short notice, particularly with property chains, so we remain as flexible as possible. If you have a provisional date, it is worth getting in touch early; we can hold availability where practical and confirm details once your plans are final.
